Jackie Griffin's Biography

Jackie Griffin is a Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist in Powys (teaching) Health Board. She has been in this role since she actively campaigned and demonstrated a need for such a service back in 2002.

Jackie's past achievements include winning the Community Award 2009 from Wounds UK for being the first in Wales to record all categories of pressure damage via the clinical incident reporting system of datix.
Earlier this year she won NHS Wales Finance Award 2014, for Best use of Resources by demonstrating that through delivering leg ulcer management via the Ellie Lindsay Leg Clubs she has saved her health board over £70,000.

She has been both the Deputy and Chairman of the All Wales Tissue Viability Nurses Forum, and remains a committed member.

The main interest for her within wound care is around best selection of products to support wounds in the healing process by ensuring that clinical effectiveness as well as cost is considered.
