Jackie Stephen-Haynes Biography

Since qualifying as a registered general nurse in 1984 Jackie has specialised in orthopaedic and rheumatology nursing before working in primary care, initially as a community staff nurse and later as a District Nurse.

Following completion of a Master in Science degree she became a specialist and lecturer in Tissue Viability in 2000. This coincided with meeting Ellie Lindsay at her first Wound Care Conference and led to Jackie becoming a trustee of the Wound Care Alliance (formerly Wound Care Society) and eventually Chair.

Jackie has subsequently become a Professor in wound healing at Birmingham City University and a Consultant Nurse for Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust, thus providing opportunities for  research as well as education and clinical care.

Her enthusiasm and commitment to both clinical practice and education has supported the delivery of accredited educational courses including Tissue Viability and lower leg care.
